This year, the Russian Life Wall Calendar explores Russia through its beautiful rivers, lakes, oceans and seas. Russian Waters offers a stunning looking glass into the landscape, cities and architecture of this ancient land: sailboats ply rippling rivers, the Neva glimmers at night, churches overlook picturesque lakes, bizarre crystalline ice formations edge a forest...
As always, our Wall Calendar also features over 200 important historical, religious and national holidays of Russia (plus the usual American ones). A great gift idea for others and yourself! [Each photo measures 9x12 inches.]
About the photographer: Born in the Volga river city of Tver, George Shpikalov loved to lug around his grandfather's old camera, even without any film in it—it was his favorite toy. In 1998, he entered Moscow State University's journalism faculty and embarked on a career in photojournalism. George also combines his love of photography with another passion: cars. He enjoys driving around Russia and capturing beautiful images. In 2006, he organized an expedition from the Barents to the Black Sea, spending three months in an off-road vehicle with his favorite camera and lenses, a portable gas stove, tent, and of course his loving wife. A photo album of the trip, Russia: North to South, was published in 2007.
